Tayt Anderson and his mother Chrissy have been frequent guests on the Ellen DeGeneres Show since 2013. Tayt, now 10-years-old, was born with half a heart and has been waiting for a heart transplant.

Tayt and Chrissy first appeared on the day-time talk show in 2013, explaining what a journey Tayt had been through, spending three quarters of his life in the hospital. Chrissy and Tayt told Ellen how much she had helped Tayt get through tough times, Tayt being one of Ellen’s most adoring fans.

In 2014, Tayt and Chrissy came back to the show, informing viewers Tayt had suffered a heart attack shortly after their 2013 appearance on the show. Chrissy explained how much Ellen inspired and motivated Tayt and to keep fighting.

Ellen informed Tayt that the premiere of her new film Finding Dori would be on June 17, 2016 and Tayt was going to be her date and VIP guest at the premiere, urging him to make sure he continues to fight.

One year later, Chrissy got the call she had been waiting for, they had a heart for Tayt. They rushed to the hospital, Tayt’s surgery a success.

Tayt and his mother appeared once again on the Ellen show, to talk about Tayt’s journey and the success of the transplant. Ellen presented the family a $20,000 check to help with medical bills. She also presented them with a brand new car for their commutes back and forth to Tayt’s appointments.
