Eight-year-old Safyre Terry suffered life-threatening burns after she and her family were victim of arson in 2013. Unfortunately, Safyre was the only one to survive the fire of her family members. She is now being cared for by her aunt Liz Dodler.

For Christmas this year, all Safyre wanted was Christmas cards to fill her aunt’s card tree. The story of the little girl’s fight and Christmas wish went viral, resulting in hundreds of thousands of cards sent.

Not only did she receive more cards than she’d ever imagined, Baking Memories 4 Kids organization is sending her on a week-long, all-expenses paid trip to Disney World, according to WNBC. The group is a non-profit organization that funds trips for children with life-threatening and terminal illnesses.

Safyre has fought through over 50 surgeries since the incident and lost her left foot and right hand due to the tragic event. Dodler maintains a Facebook page for Safyre called “Safyre Schenectady’s Super Survivor,” updating it with her progress. She posted pictures on Sunday of the thousands of cards and gifts that Safyre had received, thanking everyone for their participation. She wrote, “What an awesome day. Had to call for backup. People coming together to help Safyre opens her cards and gifts. We had bikers, family friends, girl scouts, correction officers…and many more like 50 people came to help. Thank You can’t do it without you.”
