Flight Attendant Goes Above & Beyond to Help Mom with Crying Baby

Heather Gooch was traveling with her husband and their 9-month-old son Aiden aboard Southwest Airlines when their baby started crying. A flight attendant, Anissa, sprung into action, putting her superb baby skills to the test, helping calm the young boy and his stressed out parents.

Gooch explained to CBS News, “About 45 minutes into the flight, Aiden didn’t want any part of sitting with us. He couldn’t sit still. Anissa happened to be walking by, and Aiden got so excited to see her. She looked and me and asked me if I minded if she held him.”

At that time, Gooch and her husband handed little Aiden over to Anissa, hoping it would help calm him. Gooch explained, Anissa walked with Aiden, securing him on her hip as she strolled the plane’s aisle. For about 10 minutes, Anissa walked up and down the aisle as Aiden happily waved to fellow passengers.

The flight attendant’s act of kindness made an impact with the couple, causing Gooch to post a heartfelt message to Southwest’s Facebook page, a story that has gone viral, being shared over 58,000 times.

“Dear Southwest, I’m hoping you can share this post so that I can be sure that it finds its way to a very special Southwest flight attendant. All I know about her is that her name is Anisse. My husband and 9 month old son were flying from Fort Lauderdale back home to Islip, NY on 12/28. This was my son’s first trip so we weren’t sure how things would go. Anisse went above and beyond to make sure that the trip went as smoothly as possible. I have NEVER had a flight attendant as kind and as helpful as she was. My son adored her and kept looking for her as she passed by. At one point, she saw that he was looking for her and getting ancy so she came and picked him up and walked up and down the aisle with him while my husband and I ate our lunch. Although this may not be a story that stands out from the rest, I wanted to thank her and let her know how appreciated she is. We so often hear about the negative things going on so I wanted to share this story of a someone who made my trip a little brighter. Please help this get to her!”

Anissa got word of the kind statement that had been posted, and responded saying, “Y’all are going to make me cry!!! Lol it was Truly my pleasure and he made MY day!! I needed him more than he wanted me to hang out with! Lol you know, since I can walk and all! Lol I don’t mind being used by the babies lol.”
