High school student and football player Brycen Newman was diagnosed with brain cancer. Although his diagnosis left him unable to participate in the games on field, he was still very much a part of the Cathedral Catholic High School football team.

Brycen was appointed honorary team captain for the school’s homecoming game. When it came time for the coin toss, his teammates clutched onto his hand walking in unison onto the field.

After the toss, he was led, hand-in-hand to the rest of his team. His teammates and friends all pulled off their helmets to display freshly shaven heads so that Brycen wouldn’t feel alone during his chemotherapy treatments, causing his hair to fall out.

They won the game that night, 33-0, dedicating their victory to Brycen.

A GoFundMe campaign has been created for Brycen at https://www.gofundme.com/6xh9jwhxs.
