Lea Michele is in the best shape she’s ever been in, revealing in the November issue of Shape magazine how she achieves her killer physique and reveals her secrets to staying motivated.

The Scream Queens actress opened up in the mag, telling readers she doesn’t let the number on the scale affect her, instead focuses on the bigger picture. “The fact that I’m active, eating well, and taking care of myself is all that matters—not a number.”

She also revealed a huge part of maintaining her svelte figure is credited to the simple concept of staying active. “Find three workouts you enjoy so that you can choose what you need on any given day.” She added, “I always keep moving.”

When she doesn’t feel like hitting the gym, rather than making up excuses, she chooses to look within. “If I have one of those days when I don’t want to work out, I ask myself why. I’ve learned how to listen to my body and know what I need in that moment,” she told Shape.

While she credits eating clean and smart snacking to staying healthy and maintaining energy levels, she also isn’t afraid to indulge. “My favorite is pizza. And mac and cheese. And grilled cheese. Anything with cheese.” She told Shape, “I’d eat an entire block of Wisconsin cheddar over chocolate cake any day.”
