When Mike Vegas, a bartender from Berkeley, Calif., ordered pizza and chicken wings from his local Dominos, he was stunned to find $1,300 cash in his box that was designated for his chicken wings.
The manager might have thought hiding the cash in a box labeled for chicken wings was a good hiding spot, until they get delivered to a customer!
Vegas recalled he had gotten called in to work shortly after his food was delivered, causing him to put the boxes in the refrigerator until he got home from his shift.
Vegas told ABC7, “About 5 a.m., I got home from work and went to my refrigerator and pulled out what I thought was wings. It turned out to be 1,300 bucks.”
“I wrote a Facebook post and of course there’s a long list of people arguing you should keep it, you shouldn’t keep it,you should keep it, you shouldn’t keep it. I wanted to keep it, believe me. But I can’t, I can’t do that.”
The good samaritan returned the money to his local Dominos and received free pizza for a year for his honest act.
“Honest people are hard to find these days,” said Domino’s Pizza General Manager Zia Mumtaz.
