Mindy Scheier is a fashion designer and a mother-of-three who saw first hand the need to make clothing more accessible to children with disabilities and to help overcome clothing challenges for the special needs community.

Scheier recalled a day when her 10-year-old son Oliver, who has Rigid Spine Muscular Dystrophy asked to wear jeans to school. Faced with the dilemma of fitting his jeans over his leg braces gave her the inspiration to create the non-profit, Runway of Dreams.

Runway of Dreams partners with different brands, designers and retailers and integrates wearable technology and design modifications into clothing, making it adaptive and wearable for all, according to its website.
