Ryan Reynolds is using his star power for a great cause surprising one Deadpool comic super fan with a first look at the film with a private screening in his hospital room.

Reynolds posted a picture of he and cancer patient Connor McGrath explaining that McGrath was the “first person to see the film,” weeks prior to its release in theaters.

In Reynolds’ Facebook post, he calls McGrath “quite possibly the biggest ‪#‎Deadpool‬ fan on earth.”

He continued, “About 6 weeks ago, I traveled to Edmonton Alberta to show Connor the movie at his hospital. Of course, the Deadpool was right up his alley because Connor’s the funniest, potty-mouthed Canadian mercenary I’ve ever met. He’s my friend. I know lots of celebrities jump up and down touting a cause — and maybe I’m no different.”

Reynolds encouraged his fans to donate to McGrath’s crowdfunding campaign in an effort to raise funds for treatment. The crowdfunding page explains McGrath has High-Risk Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and requires a bone marrow transplant, but is unable to undergo the transplant until he is in remission. According to the page, they have received $108,288 thanks to multiple fundraising efforts including online and mailed donations.
