Starbucks Offers Free Tuition to Family Members of Employed Veterans

Starbucks coffee company is offering free tuition to share their gratitude toward America’s veterans. If an employee of the coffee retail giant is an active duty or former military member, he or she’s spouse or one of their children can receive a 4-year-college tuition free of charge.

The complimentary tuition is toward the 4-year Arizona State University’s online degree program. A degree that could be achieved online was deemed ideal as service members are often relocated.

Starbucks rolled out the plan in honor of Veterans Day.

“We have a responsibility as a nation to honor our veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice, but it goes beyond saying thank you — we must put our thanks into action and collectively help those who are making the transition from military to civilian life,” chief executive and chairman of Starbucks Howard Schultz said in a press release.

The company hopes that by offering the program, it will not only help their current employees, but will also attract other veterans and service members to become a part of the Starbucks team.
