Although his career as an NFL quarterback has had its setbacks, his philanthropic efforts have had much success. The Heisman Trophy winner and former Florida Gators quarterback visited the Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida where he surprised Nathaniel, a Florida Gators super fan.
Tebow’s charity organization, the Tim Tebow Foundation, shared a video of the surprise encounter and the young boy’s priceless reaction. Covered in a Florida Gators blanket, laying on a Florida Gators pillow and sporting a t-shirt adorned with his favorite team, Nathaniel was overwhelmed seeing Tebow enter the hospital room.
As Nathaniel could barely get his words out, Tebow told the teen currently battling leukemia, “I’ve heard so much about you. I’ve probably had 15 people contacting me and telling me about you and how awesome you are and how so many people are praying for you, so I said, ‘I just have to go and see him.'”
The two visited for a few hours, playing video games and stopping by other patients’ rooms. Tebow later took to his Foundation’s Facebook page to call Nathaniel “an inspiration.”
